This film stars Academy Award-winning actresses Juliette Binoche and Dame Judi Dench along with Johnny Depp and one of Hollywood's up-and coming actresses Carrie-Anne Moss. Chocolat is a romantic fable set in a tranquil French town in the late 1950's at a time of looming social change. The soundtrack features a beautiful and haunting score by Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman, who previously worked with Halstrom, and received an Oscar nomination for the score for The Cider House Rules.
